The Discovery passage and in particular Quadra Island is a sought-after destination for SCUBA diving and snorkeling; in the waters at nearby Steep Island, you’ll see tiger rockfish, sponges, wolf eels, anemones, and much more. Family Fun

Kids love hands-on experiences and discovering new things, which makes the Discovery Passage Aquarium in Campbell River the perfect outing for kids! There’s also the Quadra Island Salmon Eco Centre that’s only open in July and August with interesting facts and up close experiences of a natural salmon habitat.


Take a hike

Hike to one of our many lakes. Follow a gentle walking trail to Rebecca Spit. Quadra Island offers a wide variety of hiking and walking trails ranging from forest to coastline and for everyone from beginner to veteran. Interested in the hiking trails map? You can pick up a copy at our Front Desk for just $5, the funds go back to the Quadra Island Trails Committee.

Go for a cycle

The Island is the perfect place to do some pedalling. Island Joy Rides can provide our guests with wonderful guided gourmet cycling tours. Mountain Biking has also become very popular on the island and you will find a world-renown custom bike maker, Naked Bicycle, right down the street from us. If you’re looking for self guided bike tours and e-bike Rentals check out Quadra Island Cycle. For those who prefer not to pedal, the island also offers horseback riding.

Play some golf

Take a few practice strokes on our own professional putting green, then head out to the course. Gowlland Harbour Resort is just minutes away from championship golf courses - including the
4.5 - star Storey Creek Golf Course and our
very own Quadra Island Golf Course.

Quadra Island is a haven for artists and artisans; here you’ll find some of the most beautiful pottery in the world. Let us arrange an artists’ studio tour or private art lesson for you. Join us on June 7 & 8th for the annual Quadra Island Artists Studio Tour of over 23 artists! For tour and accommodation specials, click here. If shopping is your hobby, you’ll find a number of quaint stores showcasing the work of local artisans. To experience some exquisite first nation’s artwork, you must include a visit to Nuyumbalees Cultural Centre at historic Cape Mudge on the Island.
